Is the Gladiator XComp ATR a Good Tire For ATVs, UTVs and Side By Sides?
What's going on everyone? Today, we're gonna be doing a bit of a tire breakdown, this time on the Gladiator XComp ATR. Now, we've been running these on our 2022 Polaris RZR XP 1000, putting them to the test and seeing how they perform, so today we want to give you a quick rundown on the ins and outs of this tire so you can see if they're right for your machine. With that said, let's jump right in and see what the XComp ATR brings to the table!

Design Features and Specs of the Gladiator XComp ATR
So, the specific XComp ATR tire we're looking at is a 32x10 that's mounted on an Anthem Rogue in Satin Black and a 15x7 size, a really nice setup. When it comes to the tire, though, this is a pretty beefy one. It's a nice, aggressive all-terrain tire, and if you're a truck guy, you might notice that it closely resembles the MT in the XComp lineup, which is one of Gladiator's biggest hits.
The lug pattern between both tires is very similar, though the lug spacing on the UTV tire is a bit more spread out for more surface area coverage. We really like this, though, and it definitely provides a testament to the testing and good feedback that Gladiator has heard on the MT. That just about makes it perfect for us in the UTV and Powersports world.
The XComp ATR is a 10-ply, steel belted radial tire, so it's very durable, especially when it comes to those harsher terrains that you might be running it on. However, it's a 2-ply sidewall so you can air it down for more extreme off-road conditions, so if you're rock crawling and need more contact patch, this tire can help you do that.

Performance Features of the Gladiator XComp ATR
One of the biggest things we've noticed on the XComp ATR has been the tighter hairpin turns, especially when you're coming in at speed and trying to throw your machine around the corner - these have been sticking and holding to the trail extremely well. So, the XComp ATR can help you power through in 2 wheel drive, but they also perform extremely well in all-terrain scenarios.
A huge example of this is when you're trying to go rock crawling, especially in places like Moab - airing these guys down and running them over rocks is no problem, because they can grab the rock and perform excellently.
Still, being one of the more aggressive treads in the lineup, we were extremely surprised and happy to find out that on the road, the XComp ATR is extremely smooth. We expected them to be a bit louder and rougher, but it provides a comfortable on-road experience nonetheless. It's a bit more shaky in the wheel because of the aggressive lug pattern, but even so it's a really nice tire for road riding.

Are There Any Negatives on the Gladiator XComp ATR?
Probably the only downside we've seen on this tire is that because they grip and hold so well on all terrains, gravel can be a bit of an issue. These tires will throw a little bit more gravel around when they're driving over those terrains, so it'll sling those rocks behind you a bit more aggressively than other tires would, which is a problem if you have other guys riding behind you.
Obviously, this is just the tire doing it's job, so it's not necessarily a downside - still, to alleviate this you might just want to find a different offset to get your wheel more tucked in a bit more in the front. This way, you can still grip rocks but decrease the amount of chipping and throwing that these tires are prone to do.
