Sizing and Design Comparison of the PowerMadd Star & Sentinel Series of Handguards
The PowerMadd Star series is a bit smaller than the Sentinel series and has softer body lines - this will look much better on some older ATVs and dirt bikes. The Sentinel series, by extension, is a bit larger, offering more protection and featuring sharper, more defined bodylines to match the more modern looking machines of today.
However, there are some similarities in the design features of both of these handguards. The Star and Sentinel serieses both have clip-on, removable vent covers for if your hands get too warm on the ride. They also have quite a few add-on accessories each, so let's take a second to cover them real quick.

Best Add-On Accessories For The PowerMadd Star Series
For the Star series, you can add a "flare," which is just waterproof AEPE foam that increases the surface area around the guard for added protection. PowerMadd also offers a "hand wrap attachment" that increases the stability of the handguard, and provides "wrap-around protection" for your hands.
Also available in the Star series is the "Gauntlet," which attaches to the handguards and cinches around your hands to keep them warm and dry. These are an excellent upgrade for wet fall rides, winter riders, and sled owners. Also, PowerMadd offers 2-inch spot mirrors that mount on the outside edge and can be adjusted to get a perfect viewing angle of what's behind you - there's also a great LED upgrade kit that can increase the visibility around you at night.

Best Add-On Accessories For The PowerMadd Sentinel Series
On the Sentinel series, you can add the additional Armor around the edge of the handguards, made of the same AEPE waterproof foam. The LED light kits, adjustable spot mirrors, and Gauntlet set are all available for the Sentinel series as well, so outside of a couple cosmetic differences, there's not much that separates them too significantly.
Our Final Verdict: PowerMadd Star Series or Sentinel Series?
Both the Star series and Sentinel series come with a variety of colors to fit just about any build, but Solid Black is always a great option and goes with pretty much everything. The Star and Sentinel series both have different mounting brackets, so make sure to pick the right ones - also, if you have a 2007-Present Yamaha Grizzly, be advised that you'll need the separate Tri-Mount instead if you want a set of these handguards for your machine.
With all that said, with a wealth of new features and only a $5 difference in price, the Sentinel Series definitely looks like the way to go for your ATV.
